Solace Yoga is led by Selene Alford, who has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years. I am trained in vinyasa and restorative, and also have experience practicing Bikram, Ashtanga, Hatha, Antenatal, Yin and Yoga Nidra.
Why solace?
While solace is often linked to consolation in times of grief, for me it’s simply the comfort we seek when we feel overwhelmed, overtired, or in need of a gentle hug. It might be a walk in nature, curling up with a good book, listening to music, or moving your body—each of us has something that helps us pause, breathe, and release tension.
Yoga, at its heart, is about this very thing: reducing stress, lifting our mood, restoring inner peace, and nurturing a deeper sense of well-being. For me, finding solace in the connection between breath and movement is a comfort we can all share.
